Localizzato al 20esimo piano di un grattacielo di Lower Manhattan, il Fabio Doti hairsalon è il frutto di un percorso progettuale basato sulla scelta di contrapporre la posizione delle funzioni, ponendo la reception desk e la zona d’attesa dalla parte opposta rispetto all’ingresso. In uno spazio in cui luci e materiali accentuano le gerarchie, la passerella lignea centrale diventa il percorso filtro che permette al cliente di entrare gradualmente nella “atmosfera” del locale: suoni, luci e profumi in cui ci si addentra in pochi passi. L’ambiente risulta conviviale e mondano tra le luci delle postazioni, accomodante e cortese nella waiting and bar area. Concetti apparentemente in contrasto qui si esprimono con coerenza e continuità: l’estro dell’hairstylist italiano confezionato tra le pulite geometrie newyorkesi.
Located at the 20th floor of a skyscraper in Lower Manhattan, Fabio Doti hairsalon is the result of a design process based on the choice of opposing the position of features, with the reception desk and waiting area on the opposite side of the entrance. In an area where lights and materials accentuate the hierarchies, the wooden walkway becomes the central route filter that allows the customer to enter gradually into the “atmosphere” of the venue: dipping in a few steps into lights, sounds and scents. The environment is friendly and fashionable among the lights of seats, accommodating and courteous in waiting and bar area. Concepts that are seemingly at odds here are expressed with coherence and continuity: the Italian hairstylist’s creativity is tailored in the clear New York geometries.
